Pattletons Byre holiday cottage

Our five-room holiday cottage offers everything you could possibly need for a week or two away: a welcome pack on arrival with free-range eggs from our chickens, milk, bread and orange juice. In the bedroom there is the choice either to have a king-size or twin beds, and the bathroom has both a bath and a separate shower. The kitchen is fully equipped: dishwasher, slow cooker, George Forman grill, fan oven, hob, microwave, coffee machine, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster. You will find a washing machine, walking sticks, umbrellas, etc. in the entrance hall.

The cottage is a peaceful retreat set in 30 acres of outstanding natural beauty including private gardens, ancient woodland and streams. Just outside the door is a picturesque duck pond, which is full of life all year round. The woodland is privately owned, so you can enjoy a walk completely undisturbed by other walkers. This is perfect for those who wish to bring their beloved dog on holiday with them! In the spring, the woods are filled with a sea of wood anenones, bluebells and snowdrops and in the summer months, wild prchids, foxgloves and honeysuckle. We offer a folder with walks and maps. The Byre is located near the 1066 Country Walk.

Set in the Sussex Weald, an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty", there are several local pubs serving good food and beer from our local craft brewery and gourmet dining at The Wild Mushroom. There is an excellent farm shop and butchers which specialise in local produce, organic products and free range meats. There are vineyards at Westfield and Sedlescombe.  We have many beaches nearby as well as the popular seaside resorts of Hastings & St.Leonards.  Rye is 9 miles, a quaint Medieval town. Other attractions include Battle Abbey, Bodiam Castle, the famous gardens at Sissinghurst and Great Dixter, birdwatching at RSPB Dungeness and Rye Harbour and the steam trains at Tenterden and Hythe. For those wishing to travel a little further, Brighton is about 40 miles to the West, with its Victorian pavilion and fascinating shopping Laynes.
